San Francisco, CA – Jun 24, 2014 – Clustrix, provider of the leading scale-out SQL database engineered for the cloud, today announced that Robbie Mihalyi has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Mihalyi will help drive the innovation of products, playing a major role in the next phase of growth for Clustrix.
With more than 25 years of technology experience in RDBMS internals and applications interfacing to databases, as well as e-commerce implementations at both startups and large organizations, Mihalyi successfully built and led high-performing teams to deliver innovative products to market.
“The demand for a highly available, scale-out transactional database is greater than ever, especially in segments requiring customer engagement analytics like e-commerce and social media,” said Don Listwin, CEO and chairman of Clustrix. “Robbie’s track record of successful product development and implementations is a welcome addition to the team, and I’m excited to have him on board.”
Prior to Clustrix, Mihalyi was the founder and CTO of Thynkster. Mihalyi also worked in vice president roles at marketing software companies Marketo and MarketLive. At both companies, he implemented agile processes and practices, significantly improving concept-to-market deployment. In addition, Mihalyi served 10 years as the key engineer on the database engine at Sybase, later becoming the director of SQL server. He also led the performance effort for the RDBMS system posting record-breaking benchmarks and leading the scalability re-architecture of the core database engine.
Rao Yendluri, Clustrix’s previous Engineering VP is remaining with the company and will head the offshore development team based in India. Yendluri’s team will be focused on performance benchmarking and testing.
