Clustrix Executive to Deliver Opening Keynote at Percona Live MySQL Conference

Company to Exhibit Its Database Appliances at Both Percona Live Conference and Storage Networking World

San Francisco, Calif. – October 11, 2011Clustrix announced today that Paul Mikesell, co-founder of Clustrix, and Aaron Passey, CTO of Clustrix, will deliver the opening keynote at the Percona Live MySQL Conference in London. The keynote will take place on October 25 at 9:30 a.m. local time. The company will also exhibit its database appliances at booth spots 3 and 4, showing how to get the unlimited scale promised by NoSQL without sacrificing the richness of SQL at the highest industry performance.

In a new test, Clustrix has collaborated with Percona to characterize the performance of the Clustrix and MySQL products. Percona compared several different SSD-based technologies running both Clustrix and Percona Server with XtraDB. Percona was able to test different workloads at different concurrencies on a variety of different platforms to create a landscape of the available high-performance options in the MySQL environment. During their keynote titled “Characterizing Performance,” Mikesell and Passey will cover the tests and the results.

Clustrix is also exhibiting its database appliances this week at SNW in Orlando, Fla. at booth 712.

No Sharding!

Database sharding is expensive and risky. It introduces significant opportunity cost and risk by requiring additional application code and operational complexity.

Clustrix diminishes the cost and complexity of sharding. Clustrix has created a distributed database that grows online through clustering.
