ClustrixDB for Magento Expands Offering with New Products

Clustrix Checkout and Clustrix Flash Sales Increase Performance during Flash Sales

San Francisco, CA - Jun 20, 2016 - Clustrix, the only Magento-approved drop-in replacement for MySQL, today announced the addition of two products to the ClustrixDB for Magento bundle, making it the only Magento solution to allow full-site functionality and performance even while running the Magento Indexers. The new Clustrix Checkout and Clustrix Flash Sales significantly improve performance of the checkout process, allowing for faster and higher volume of simultaneous checkouts, even in low product count “Flash Sale” scenarios.

“The worst case scenario an e-commerce store can run into is to manage to pull in a flood of customers trying to buy their products, and then not be able to sell them. We’ve seen time and time again companies launch new products only to have users stuck and frustrated on long loading, or crashing, checkout pages.” said Kevin Bortnick, Magento Solutions Architect, Clustrix.

Flash Sales make it tough to seamlessly process checkouts; the huge burst of transactions on very small inventory SKUs tend to overwhelm the database. Even normal high checkout situations put strain on the database due to the high volume of write data. The updates to the ClustrixDB for Magento bundle help speed up checkouts and reduce frustration, even under the duress of a flash of heavy transaction volume so that end users have a friction-free experience. Clustrix Checkout significantly increases performance on Enterprise Edition 1.14 and Community Edition 1.9, while Clustrix Flash Sales allows for a high volume of checkouts on a small number of products or even a single product.

“Our commitment is to enable Magento customers to instantaneously and accurately process high volumes of transactions in the tight windows that are characteristic of Flash Sales,” said Mike Azevedo, CEO Clustrix. “With Clustrix’s new Clustrix Checkout for Magento sites, customers still get full site functionality even while under heavy load or running the Magento Indexers that tend to slow websites down significantly.”
