Clustrix Makes Executive Moves with the Appointment of Two Industry Veterans

New CEO Mike Azevedo and Executive Chairman Bruce Armstrong Lead Next Stage of Growth

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Sep 9, 2014 -  Clustrix, provider of the leading scale-out SQL database engineered for the cloud, today announced that industry veteran, Mike Azevedo, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Azevedo brings more than 25 years of sales and executive leadership experience to his new role where he will seek to expand Clustrix market share worldwide.

Prior to Clustrix, Azevedo ran the top sales division of large-scale cloud computing company Platform Computing, later acquired of IBM. He also led global sales of ParAccel, and helped with a successful turnaround of PostX Corporation, prior to its acquisition by Cisco. Azevedo held several leadership positions at VERITAS Software, where he was involved in strategic M&A and business process re-engineering, eventually becoming head of the F100 sales team.

Clustrix also named Bruce Armstrong to the board of directors as Executive Chairman. Bruce has over 25 years of senior and general management experience in technology companies ranging from start-ups to large corporations including a 12 year career at Teradata from founding through IPO. Bruce has served on a number of company boards including Accrue, BuyMedia, NetVendor, TechWeb and WibiData among others.
