Clustrix Expands Team, Adding Vice President of Sales

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Jul 20, 2010 - Former Rackable Executive to Lead the Company’s Sales Efforts

Clustrix, the provider of industry’s first Clustered Database Systems (CDS) for Internet-scale applications, today announced the appointment of George Reitz as vice president of sales. Previously, Reitz was vice president of internet and cloud computing at Rackable, where, as employee number 23, he led a team that produced more than 100 percent revenue growth for six consecutive years, resulting in a successful IPO and revenues of $360 million. Prior experience includes various roles as executive advisor, founder, and employee to companies such as NonStopNet, Compaq, Frontline Network Consulting, and ASA Computers.

“I am pleased to add George to the team,” said Paul Mikesell, founder and CEO of Clustrix. “I believe his proven track record of managing teams that develop impressive customer traction, as well as his experience of identifying and solving customer challenges in high-growth environments, including Web 2.0, will directly benefit Clustrix and our customers.”

“After witnessing customers struggle  to scale their database infrastructure, I am thrilled with the reaction we get when they realize that with Clustrix, they  get both the performance and scalability of NoSQL key value stores and the fully relational, ACID-compliant functionality of SQL while providing full interoperability with the MySQL protocol,” said Reitz. “It is a powerful technology that allows organizations to scale from a few to tens and hundreds of nodes as a single-instance database with immediate transactional consistency, full relational functionality, and seamless deployment. I do not know any other company that can do that.”
